Working to ensure maximum productivity at the Terminal
Terminal Darsena Toscana (TDT) is the container terminal of the Port of Livorno. Thanks to its strategic location, with easy access to road and rail networks, it boasts a maximum annual operational capacity of 900,000 TEU.
As the main port serving central and north-eastern Italy, TDT is the ideal commercial gateway for a vast hinterland that includes Tuscany, Emilia-Romagna, Veneto, Marche, and northern Lazio. It also serves as a key access point to the European market, playing a crucial role for trade with the Americas (particularly the USA) and West Africa. TDT’s reliability, efficiency, and secure operational processes earned it the distinction of being the first Italian terminal to receive AEO certification in 2009. Over the years, TDT has also been recognized by other major certification bodies.
To address the growing demands of the Transporters’ Association, TDT needed an additional tool to provide customers with real-time monitoring of terminal activities and detailed information on container status and availability. Leveraging user feedback, TDT developed an app aimed at streamlining operations, maximizing productivity, and reducing container acceptance and return times.

The collaboration between Adiacent and Terminal Darsena Toscana
After developing TDT’s website and reserved areas, Adiacent took on the challenge of creating a new app. Adiacent’s Enterprise, Factory, and Agency teams collaborated closely with TDT to meet the customer’s needs promptly.
The design, development, and launch of the app were, in fact, completed in less than a month.
TDT’s Truck Info App, available in English and for both iOS and Android, aligns with TDT’s brand image and offers all the essential functionalities required by terminal operators. These include monitoring terminal status, accessing the latest notices, and tracking the status of both imported and exported containers.
It is a comprehensive and efficient tool designed to enhance the daily productivity of all terminal operators.
A new feature is set to be added to the app’s existing functionalities: the ability to report potential container damages directly through the app. This feature will allow truck drivers to autonomously report damages, improving their time management and overall efficiency.
“When the need for a new tool arose, – commented Giuseppe Caleo, Terminal Darsena Toscana’s Commercial Director – we acted promptly by collaborating with our long-term partner Var Group, which quickly and efficiently delivered an app that, according to early user feedback, has exceeded expectations.”
