Imetec and Bellissima: two new e-commerce websites for Tenacta Group

Tenacta Group, a leading company in the small appliances and personal care sector, recently embarked on a significant digital transformation by replatforming its e-commerce websites for its brands Imetec and Bellissima.

The need for a more modern and user-friendly system stemmed from the desire for greater control and a more agile daily management process. The previous system was complex and difficult to maintain, causing challenges in managing activities and updating websites with new content. To address these issues, Tenacta initiated a replatforming project, strategically and technically supported by Adiacent, transitioning to Shopify.

The Choice of the New Platform: Shopify

After an in-depth scouting process, both internally and in collaboration with Adiacent, Tenacta evaluated various alternatives for the replatforming of its e-commerce websites. The goal was to find an online platform that could meet the company’s needs without disrupting its established management procedures. Shopify was chosen for its solid, scalable, and easily customizable ecosystem, perfectly aligning with Tenacta’s website management and operational requirements.

The project involved creating four synchronized properties to enable smooth and responsive management of catalog data and the content management system (CMS). Integrating two e-commerce websites for different brands on the same platform was a significant challenge, but Shopify efficiently and simply met this requirement.

The Development Process: Agile and Collaborative

For the development of the new system, the Scrum method was adopted, involving a flexible and iterative working process that allowed rapid adaptation to emerging needs throughout the project lifecycle. This approach included continuously “unpacking” different front-end sections of the website, defining functionalities to be migrated from the previous site, developing and launching individual functionalities, and finalizing testing and go-live phases.

A key aspect of this process was the continuous exchange of information and collaboration with Tenacta’s development team, ensuring seamless integration of new functionalities with their daily operational needs. This constant dialogue allowed for the prompt identification and resolution of potential issues before the go-live phase.

One of the main challenges was managing the go-live phase during a high-seasonality period for both brands. The launch coincided with a significant sales peak due to seasonal promotions and high demand for Imetec products. This critical phase required coordinated and precise teamwork among Tenacta, Adiacent, and Shopify to ensure a smooth implementation without interruptions. The specific assistance during the go-live phase was crucial, enabling a seamless transition and minimizing downtime risks.

The replatforming to Shopify has been a significant success for Tenacta, modernizing and simplifying the management processes of its e-commerce websites, enhancing operational efficiency, and improving customer experience. Thanks to the straightforward and collaborative approach with Adiacent, Tenacta overcame technical challenges and developed a high-performance, scalable platform. Shopify proved to be the ideal choice, enabling a more fluid, secure, and customizable management process for the Imetec and Bellissima online stores.

This project demonstrates that adopting an advanced e-commerce platform, supported by an experienced technical partner, can be pivotal in achieving strategic business objectives while  enhancing user experience and optimizing internal management processes.
